We continue to grow with new businesses popping up to include medical and technology along with the continued strength of our military and now with the close proximity of the Eagle Ford Shale.
2011 Milken Institute Best-Performing Cities has recognized San Antonio and has moved us up from 14th place in 2010 to #1 in 2011 .
The Best Performing Cities index includes both long-term (five years) and short-term (one year) measurements of employment and salary growth. There are also four measurements of technology output growth, which are included because of technology’s crucial role in creating good jobs and driving regional economies.
I am so proud of living in this great city and the leaders who had the vision and focus to get us here.
